Horse & rider must have completed horsemanship levels 1 & 2

Groundwork

  • Refining your body language & horsemanship skills
  • Longing or sending also using obstacles
  • Lateral flexion
  • Vertical flexion
  • Speed control using body language (voice optional)
  • Change of directions
  • Turning over hocks
  • Sidepassing stage 2
  • Disengaging hindquarters
  • Awareness of horse's position of feet in air and on ground
  • Stand
  • Back up
  • Lowering of head using pressure & release methods
  • Desensitizing

Mounted work

  • Warm up flex program vertical & lateral various exercises
  • Shoulder control
  • Counter bend (reverse bend)
  • Direct bend
  • Push off exercises in forward motion (front end of horse)
  • Leg yield  side pass stage 2
  • Preliminary work for correct lead departure
  • Circles
  • Speed Control using only seat & body language (voice optional)
  • Collection
  • Stop using woah & seat
  • Stop & back up
  • Roll backs
  • Step out exercise when backing up
  • This exercise help teach the horse to move front legs correctly when spinning
  • Spins
  • Bridleless back up using seat & body language only
  • Stand
  • Desensitizing
  • Obstacles optional (trail riders)

Horsemanship level 4

Horse & rider must have completed levels 1,2 and 3

At this level it is expected that your horse has good ground manners and is a willingly guided horse, responding to a soft hand and subtle cues.

  • Using exercises from horsemanship level 1 2 and 3

Mounted work

  • Refining your riding skills to your choice
  • Using exercises from horsemanship level 1 2 and 3
  • Riding bridleless (optional)
  • Show Training preparing you and your horse for show
